Neighbours around Me
- What a neighbour, when his house being robed, we were the one who helped him the most and not his family member. When our house being robed, he closed both of his eyes.
- What a neighbour, everyday came back late night and slammed both grills and doors as loud as he could, without thinking the neighbours around. How could I "repay" that?
- What a neighbour, she is so beautiful and kind, yet she was belonged to someone. Hurt.
- What a neighbour, quarreling 24 hours per day and 7 days per week involving both mother and daughter, do they even think of their neighbour? Also, reputation? Gosh.
- What a neighbour, always looked all his doors and windows, treated own neighbour as stranger. Silly and worthless to smile at them each time.
- What a neighbour, his puppy always comes to my house for nothing and he take no care about it. Luckily the dog that I took care is smart to pee on his gate!
- What a neighbour, always gave her food, to tryout different foods from different culture, eventually, she will return the dish with cold French toast, everytime. As though I don't know how to do French toast, speechless.
- What a neighbour, he looks like a fisherman and clean fish every morning in his car pouch. After cleaned those fish, the fish scales were just washed to the main road and that's it. Is that the proper way? The scales have brain, when they were dried, they will flew back to the car pouch! That's more I like it.
- What a neighbour, everyday approached to you and gossip with you. Nothing else to do?!
- What a neighbour, as a housewife who stayed at home, always being a "spy" to peep opposite neighbour to see who came to our house and what are they doing. We do not need a CCTV!
- What a neighbour, any visitors come to their house, they eventually will horn. It is annoying, because my visitors horn too! With the same tone!

Mooncake Festival
As for yesterday, what I did was, instead of eating mooncake under the moon, I ate durian under the moon! Watching kids around the neighbourhood carrying modern and traditional lanterns, walking and running around under the moon light, some with the entire family members, even with wheel chairs. Some may not take part in carrying the lanterns but their house was lighted up with lanterns! Lovely.
As for me, I miss and missed the enjoyment of burning the candles and lighting the lanterns up to hang around my house in KL. Perhaps gonna miss it for another 3 years. Will wait and see.

Selamat Hari Raya!
Ah, another boring holiday for me, reason is because I did not plan earlier to fly back, even worse, last minute only knew that my tuition free week falls on the Raya week! Blaming myself for not planning ahead, by the time I noticed it, the price of flight was like 4-6 times higher than usual price. This year will be my 2nd year to skip the Raya celebration at my uncle's house (Alor Gajah, Malacca), and he celebrates Raya every year. Gonna miss another 3 years? Perhaps so, unless I plan ahead, this will be a great lesson for me.
Last year was not that bored, although I did not fly back, I could at least follow my cousins to visit his friends, but not this year, all busy working, aiks.

Mystery of Deep-sea Fish with Tubular Eyes and Transparent Head
The barreleye (Macropinna microstoma) has extremely light-sensitive eyes that can rotate within a transparent, fluid-filled shield on its head. The fish's tubular eyes are capped by bright green lenses. The eyes point upward (as shown here) when the fish is looking for food overhead. They point forward when the fish is feeding. The two spots above the fish's mouth are are olfactory organs called nares, which are analogous to human nostrils. Image: © 2004 MBARI

RON95 begins Today
Previously, the price of RON 95 in Malaysia is RM1.75 per litre. From today onwards, it will be RM1.80 per litre and will be introduced to nationwide. Perhaps the 'red' colour fuel(RON 95) that often people neglected in Shell(as an example) will be the main fuel while the 'green' colour fuel(RON97) that mostly people used will be the premium fuel, increased from RM1.80 to RM2.05 per litre. The previous 'green' colour fuel will no longer can be found easily nationwide, only selected locations and city. I've asked the cashier in one of the Shell petrol kiosk in Miri regarding RON97 which commonly we used, he answered me only Kuching has it, RON97 and V-Power are not available in Miri, until future, perhaps.
What do you guys think about it? 1st thing came across into my mind was that, are we downgrading our daily fuel instead of upgrading to RON99? Then, will the performance of the vehicle become worse? Next, will the engine of the vehicle gets dirtier easily? Worst of all, will it damage the vehicle engine?!
Oh well, after I've Google'd for few minutes, my above assumptions are out of the box, totally wrong! Here's a simple conclusion that I can make after reading few articles. 1st things 1st, RON signifies Research Octane Number. It is a measurement of the fuel's ability to resist engine knocking. Knocking only happens in the engine whereby the cylinder explodes when fuel and air being mixed together. The higher the Octane Number, the harder/higher resistance for the engine to knock, which it will reduces the performance of the vehicle! Thus, don't feel and think bad of using a lower Octane Number of fuel, it's just cheaper and environmental friendly, I think.

Haze in Miri, Sarawak
Can any officer or maybe the government do something about this? As far as I know the haze all were caused by the open burning at Kuala Baram. Now, everyone is suffering and suffocating, especially the place where I'm studying, Curtin University, quite near to Kuala Baram. Never expected the haze was so serious, but, on Tuesday, I woke up early to head to town, and all I saw every corner was, haze, haze and haze!
Here's an article for you guys to read @ TheStar.
A motto for this situation was created by me: 'Daze in the maze of haze!'

Back to Miri
Anyway, during my journey back to Miri, I took 2 shoots of a humanga-danga 'wave' of cloud from the Air Bus of AirAsia. To me, it looks like a desert of cotton candy!
Here's the pictures, click to enlarge the image.
Enjoy!

2 Weeks of Mod
Now I'm gonna show you what I've done to my Desktop at my home for 2 weeks. Surgeries were made just for the sake of beauty of my Desktop. Firstly, the cable management, it took me hours to do, and it's my first time too! While doing the cable managements, I was dehydrating, sweats were flowing out rapidly. Then, added some bling bling stuffs and so on.
Before the main surgery began, this is how it looks like, ugly wasn't it?
After major surgery, it turned into this

Doesn't it looks neater compared to the previous pictures?
Later, another surgery has been made and it transformed into this
Added a pair of red CCFL and changed the back exhaust fan, from blue 1.2k RPM to red 2k RPM. The old Cooler Master 1.2k blue LED fan has been placed at the 5.25" bay. Hot enough? Doesn't it looks like a mini 'oven' to you?
Finally, it became like this

Within 2 weeks, I've sneaked to Low Yat Plaza roughly 5 times, just to survey and grab the relevant accessories. Perhaps next trip(November/December) will add some UV stuffs for my Desktop. By the way, just wait for 22nd November, I will fly back to KL, flight has been booked!

Retimed yet Delayed
Wow, lucky us, there were remaining 6 seats for the earlier flight, AK5187. Well, without any further though, all the remaining 6 seats were taken by us, FOC! Well, just nice for 6 of us, except my cousin as he couldn’t make it, because he’s working, burned 1 ticket. However, there is 1 condition for us to accept the changes of flight, the seats that we were getting will be at the second last row, Row 30A - 30F! Ah, who cares man, even last row I also wouldn’t mind as long as can go back earlier! The schedule for AK5187 will be departing from Miri at 8.45pm and estimated will arrive at Kuala Lumpur by 10.55pm. Not long after we changed our flight, another SMS was sent by AirAsia to my mobile phone, and again, it mentioned that our new flight, AK5187 was retimed to 9.55pm. My oh my, just what happened since morning, guess all flights KL-Miri for 22nd June were retimed? No doubt.
Since AK5187 was retimed to 9.55pm, thus, we went to the air-port before 8pm to check-in for safe side. When we check-in, guess what, the receptionist told us that the flight has been delayed to 10.50pm! Well, new flight was delayed but yet still earlier than the previous flight, still acceptable too. So we wasted our dinner time in the air-port just looking at the ticking clock and watch. In the end guess what, we departed from Miri air-port at 11.35pm! Might as well don’t change the flight? LOL, wasted the efforts just to get a 20 minutes earlier flight?! *Sigh*
I wanna do a simply summary here for both flights. Our original flight, AK5189, departing from Miri at 9.40pm but was then informed and retimed to 11.55pm. We changed to an earlier flight for free, AK5197, originally departing at 8.45pm but retimed to 9.55pm, then was announced delayed to 10.50pm, end up departed from Miri at 11.35pm, annoying!
So and so, we arrived in Malacca at 3.40am. This post was typed completely at 5.04am!
Anyhow, this will be my first and hope to be the last time to fly at night, such remarkable experiences were quite unpleasant. However, there is 1 thing that I like to fly at night but it can only be enjoyed less than 5 minutes then will be boring for the rest of the journey, which is, the top view of Miri city is pretty amazing from the plane!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, airplane does not pass by city of KL, thus, I got no comment else than Sepang area. Anyway, tried to capture an image but too bad, failed. Just imagine thousands and thousands of white candles were lighted up and been arranged accordingly as you like, isn’t it so romantic? Oww, so sweet~

Free to Blog
Anyway, I am going back to West Malaysia this semester break with my aunt and cousin's family on the 22nd June. We will head to Malacca first for 6 days as my aunt has not back to her home in Malacca for 26 months! Ah well, she loves taking care of her 2 grandchildren (my niece and nephew) in Miri and that's the reason she did not go back to Malacca. After spending 5 nights in Malacca, then only we will head to my house in Kuala Lumpur on the 28th June, Sunday. Very sad to say that I will not bring my Celcom Broadband back (stated earlier planning bring back to run a speed test), as my 62 years old uncle here in Miri is taking care of the house and need the internet connection to kill his bored-ness time.
That's it for now, will keep updating my blog (although the laziness to blog is always there)!

Circular Rainbow
Last year I saw a Twin Rainbow, and last month I saw it once again, however, I failed to get a picture of it.
Today, what I saw was beyond my imagination! Guess what, I saw the sun was surrounded by a ring of rainbow!!! How does it looks like? Just simply scroll down and have a look, click on the image to have a larger view and save a copy if you want to. I've tried my best to get the best shoot and I'm sacrificing my mobile phone because the ray from the sun was strong enough to damage my mobile phone's camera lens!

Restless Celcom #2
As I stated before, I'll not give up as I wanna increase the duration for my broadband. Guess what happened, for no good reason, my broadband auto disconnected. Worst of all, my signal lost. So, I gotta replug my modem.
Damn. However, I manage to see the duration before it get disconnected, which was 190:01:40, nearly 8 days! Thus, this shall be my own personal record for not turning off or restart my broadband connection for nearly 8 days! See when can I break this record, usually I'll restart my connection at least once per day.

Clumsy yet Lucky
This is what gonna happen if you always complete your work in the very very very last minute:
1. May not be perfect 100%.
2. As the time limit is approaching, you will simply do.
3. You'll take no care even if you feel it's incomplete.
4. Grammar and spelling mistakes everywhere.
5. Produce untidy and messy work.
6. Rush till early morning and no sleep, go to class with no strength.
7. Anxious to get low marks.
8. Gain low mark at the end of the day.
Ok, I admit that I'm one of the Homo sapiens that always do last minute work. It was the worst 'nightmare' that I ever faced. People always give excuses that they had no mood to do their work, until the very last minute, they will rush for it, is that the mood? I've rushed my project till Monday 2am, and ready to save a copy into my pendrive before heading to bed. Before that, I was cleaning the unwanted temporary files on my Desktop. Without anyone's notice, I didn't realise that my folder for my project has been selected. Guess what I hit on my keyboard, I hitted 'Shift + Delete + Enter'.
And wahlah, the 'nightmare' has just began. My heart was like gonna blow! First thing in my mind was, I asked myself to calm down, trying to convince myself so that I can recover it by using certain recovery softwares. Too bad, I can't recover it perfectly. Only manage to recover it for about 70%. The balance 30% I gotta redo it. My tables and diagrams were gone, my drawings were vanished. What to do? Rush again from S to Z (not A to Z, it's the balance 30%)!
Rushed till 4.30am and planned not to go to bed as I gotto get ready for class by 7am, no point for me to sleep. But too bad, the heavy cold rain outside has made me wanna sleep and resulted me to woke later by half an hour compared to normal waking time. And again, rush, rush to class, yet reached too early, ZzZz.
So to all Homo sapiens, please don't do last minute work. If you still refused to change such attitude, wait till you experience it.

Restless Celcom #1
I, personally using Celcom Broadband in Miri for nearly a year. Think in the near way, 5Gb is kinda big. If you think further, 5Gb is nothing. This is what I mean, look at the image below which I 'print screen' it.
Signal : HSDPA
Network : Celcom
Duration : 162:05:07 = 6.75 days
Volume : 7.4Gb
Oh well, from what can I conclude is that, I like the connection of HSDPA, reason? If I'm lucky, I can reach 2.0mbps+ for the download speed in the internet speed test. Try it out at www.speedtest.net for free. If in Miri the download speed can reach 2.0mbps, what about in Kuala Lumpur, since it can reach up to 3.6mbps. Gonna try once I go back for mid term break as I didn't bring it back last year semester break. In KL, my DSL connection may only reach 1.5mbps, maximum. Anyhow, the weakness of using broadband is that, it only emphasize on download speed, not upload speed, which means that if you play any online games, the ping must be high and laggy!
Anything else? It's my first time in my life, again, to on my broadband without stopping it! From what you saw in the picture above, the duration is 162:05:07, and now, the moment I'm typing it, is 162:36:44. I'll post the final image once I give up.

Well, Malaysians, be supportive for next year!!! Just one hour, it won't kill you. You can

Beautiful Polymers
Today was the second Lab session after started 5 weeks of tuition(studies). The task for this second Lab was related to Polymer. Basically, there were 2 parts for this Lab, Part A was 'Resorcinol-Formaldehyde Resin' while Part B was 'Polymerisation of Methyl Methacrylate'.
As for the Part A, all we have to do was *let me copy and paste* stir 1.75 g of resorcinol into 2 mL of ~35% formaldehyde solution in a test tube. Add 0.25 g of oxalic acid into the resorcinol and formaldehyde mixture an stir well. If necessary, warm carefully over a steam bath. After a few minutes the reaction mixture will become very hot and copious amount of formaldehyde fumes will evolve.
As for the Part B, *let me copy and paste* place approximately 1.2ml of methyl methacrylate monomer in a test tube, add 0.02 g of benzoyl peroxide, stoppered the test tube loosely with cotton wool and heat in a boiling water bath. After 20 – 30 minutes, the liquid suddenly becomes very viscous and soon sets to a hard, colourless mass of polymer.
The reaction for Part A was SUPERB fast, don't know how should I describe the reaction and I had no picture to show. While the Part B took a lot of time, plus, my team failed the 1st attempt and resulted we need to repeat the same procedure for Part B. And at last, success, check the pictures below, it's Polymer!

New Rubik's 360
Based on what I found in the net, Google for sure, Rubik's 360 is being released this year, 2009! Oh well, the inventor is Prof Ernő Rubik, as he is the inventor to invent mechanical puzzles such as Rubik's Cube.
Basically there are 3 spheres in 1 set of Rubik's 360. The biggest in size will be outside with few empty slots, then a middle in size of sphere located inside of the biggest sphere, and the smallest sphere will be located in the inner most. The inner most sphere contains 6 coloured balls. All we have to do is just to get the 6 coloured balls from the inner most sphere into the matching slots on the outer most sphere by shaking them through the middle sphere that has only two holes. Sounds fun?
This is how Rubik's 360 looks like.
